🔊: Dog grumbly noises, squeaky chair, dog cronchies
Rena's speak on command progress. She now offers it as a behavior without prompting (tho only when treats come out) but has decided it requires a head bob or head boop?

CW: Loud, me speaking, wibbly wobbly camera because my hands shake, dog sounds, off focus camera because I was focused on the training exercise
Realistic start to finish in teaching another step to a new trick. In this case i had to capture a behavior she was already doing, when she wants something (being let out of kennel after dinner, trying to re-engage in training times, etc) being excited with a marker word (YES!) and treating immediately. If it was unplanned, just Marker word and enthusiastic pets every time she does the thing I want.
The behavior i want is a vocalization. Unsure what it'll be in the end as it depends on what she can and is willing to do. Currently its in between an airy mouth uof and a grumbly quick mouth open and close guhrrr. I don't necessarily want her to bark, but in general to make a sound.

The possible end goal (reasons):
-notify me audibly of a need (water, food, potty, stuck somewhere?)
-vocalize on command, perhaps to discourage dogs that are too friendly earlier (she's nervous around strange dogs and doesn't feel comfy with random contact or sniffing for too long.)
-maybe make it a portion of a trick sequence later. (new command that is a more complex challenge by combining stuff)
This is like step 3? in teaching her to do this behavior on command.
Step 1 was capturing it (treat for doing the thing when she does it in daily life.) Step 2 was setting up deliberate situations in which she would be motivated to do the target behavior (Riddle helped with half of this as he started trying to yodel since he saw treats, so i started trying to have them both vocalize, and she was more eager both due to competition plus an example of what I'm giving treats for.)
I'm on Step 3 now, reinforcing it + setting a word/hand signal to it (i start her off easy then randomly start waiting longer for a hopefully louder or longer vocalization + swapping out the awrooo command she caught onto a little because riddles command is yodel awrooo as he doesn't have it 100% yet, so swapping her to a "talking" hand signal combined the word Speak.)
