Their worldviews are not a debate goal. Proving them wrong nor gatcha responses will never do the job unless they're already convinced & just needed more info.
Properly unraveling the things that led to that worldview require trust and a sense of safety for them to open up.
The way you comport yourself in the spaces you share affect how trustworthy you feel to them. How you say things and how you vent in those spaces matter.
This is not an easy role to take on and it is a long-term position that requires incredible amounts of patience and the ability to allow them to express themselves regardless of whether they are right or not. They NEED that in order to grow and learn. They NEED that in order to open up to other ideas & explore further.
