As of a few hours ago, reports of shelling came out of Kyev in the Ukraine, with both sides accusing the other.
Russian backed forces say that Ukrainian forces fired, Ukrainian forces say Russian rebels fired.

The CIA has been training ground troops in the Ukraine since at least 2015 in order to foment a situation in which NATO could step in and quietly take over.

I would start by looking there when shots start going off.

Conflict, works neither to the benefit of Russia or Ukraine, only NATO and the US benefit from manufactured civil unrest there as it disrupts the Russo-Belarusian military line and gives them increasing reasons to "step in" should the moment require one day.
