Protestants often overlook key details and misinterpret Scripture. A closer reading of the passage shows that Jesus is the ONLY one explicitly named as Mary's child. Furthermore, a careful examination of the following verse in the original Greek supports the Catholic teaching that Mary had no other biological children.
Mark 6:4 - “But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.””
The Greek term used for 'relative' here is 'syngeneusin.' In the ancient Greek-speaking world, this word was NEVER used to refer to siblings from the same mother.
Brothers and sisters' doesn't always imply a biological relationship. It's a matter of common sense.
