Two white-tailed eagles found dead in Southern England

Efforts to reintroduce White-tailed Eagles to southern England have just suffered a serious setback. It has been announced that two of the 25 individuals released on to the Isle of Wight since 2019 have been recovered dead.

The eagles were found following “multiagency operations” in the south of England. One bird is known to have been found in Dorset at the end of January, and the other is rumoured to be in Sussex.

Unfortunately, due to the high intensity and the labour shortage that modern agriculture enforces, combined with predatory pressures from business and those who supply farmers, the chances that these beautiful creatures ate a smaller animal had ingested pesticides from a field is very high.

As lovers of nature and the animals that have inhabited this gorgeous island of ours, we are eager to return to a form of farming that is more natural and causes less pollution that kills natural wildlife.

Crimes against nature such as this are not soon forgotten, and though not always visible, they are harshly punished by nature against man. As part of nature, we have a duty to work with it, not against it.

1890 The opening of the Lynton and Lynmouth funicular Cliff Railway. It is the the UK's only fully water powered railway and is also the highest and the steepest totally water powered railway in the world. The cliff railway connects the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth in north Devon.
The Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway is the only fully water powered railway in the UK. Lifts such as Saltburn Cliff Lift and the Folkestone Leas Cliff Lift have encapsulated water powered systems which means that they need to re-pump the water back to the top using electric motors to be used again. Most Cliff Railways in the UK and the world require electrical power for operation or for re-pumping water.

The Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway is unique to the UK in that no external electrical power is required and we are one of only three fully water powered railways in the world!
A fantastic example of our people's engineering prowess. The West country is not just for your cider and cheeses!

The day before his 32nd birthday, Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s 236 ft steamship Great Western sailed from Bristol on her maiden voyage to New York. The journey took 15 days, half the time of the fastest sailing ship.
When it was built, the Great Western was the longest ship in the world at 236 ft (72 m) with a 250-foot (76 m) keel. The ship was constructed mainly from wood, but Brunel added bolts and iron diagonal reinforcements to maintain the keel's strength. In addition to its steam-powered paddle wheels, the ship carried four masts for sails. The Great Western embarked on her maiden voyage from Avonmouth, Bristol, to New York on 8 April 1838 with 600 long tons (610,000 kg) of coal, cargo and seven passengers on board. Brunel himself missed this initial crossing, having been injured during a fire aboard the ship as she was returning from fitting out in London.
Brunel was the man who built so much of Bristol, it is to him we owe the legacy of our beautiful city, and God willing, we will have it again.

!IMPORTANT!

This isn't a particularly pleasant post but it's important. There is a show being put on in one of Bristol's theatres about sex and pleasure, you can get the idea. The show is aimed at 5+, this is completely grooming on the part of the actors and people involved.

I'm not one for petitions normally because they don't really work but, in this instance I have a good feeling there has already been a lot of backlash to the show. However, more can be done to stop it in its tracks before the show goes on tour across the country. I'm going to provide links to the petition and to articles already written.

Please share to other Channels or pages or to people who you think would sign.
We know that certain members of society are beginning to make a much more serious effort to groom and expose children to all sorts of degeneracy. Let's try and stop this!

On this day...
The expedition organised by Sir Walter Raleigh departed England for Roanoke Island (now in North Carolina) to establish a permanent English settlement in what later became the Virginia Colony.
Walter Raleigh, one of the South West's most famed exlporers of the pre-modern era, organised the expedition and set the colony up.
Mysteriously, after years of silence, another expedition would be launched to find the colony, of which nobody would remain except for a message etched into a tree. Nobody knows what happened to the colonists!

Protests over rocketing cost of living taking place in Bournemouth

A fury over the cost-of-living crisis is set to prompt protests in Bournemouth today, as well as in 23 other locations across the country. Demonstrations are also fuelled by continued anger about the sacking of 800 P&O workers.

The People’s Assembly said it expects thousands of protesters will take to the streets on Saturday (April 2) at locations throughout the UK to highlight those suffering "real hardships" due to the combination of rising fuel and food prices, inflation, and low pay.
Unions have complained that Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s spring statement last week did nothing to allay fears about soaring fuel bills and rising inflation.

The people are rightly angry at the government’s planned destruction of the economy- from the forcible closing of businesses of Covid-19 to the huge money printing in the last 18 months, to sanctions it has imposed on Russia and the Russian sanctions imposed on us- the government has made life infinitely harder for those who struggle to get by.

Inflation, fuel price and energy price increases are driving people to the breaking point, yet the government continues to spend money it doesn’t have on those who do not deserve it- whether it’s useless civil service administrators or the millions it spends every day to house illegal migrants here, there is always a source of money the government is willing to spend: your money.
