1769, birth of Thomas Lawrence in Bristol, famous portrait painter of the early modern period, his works include the famous portrait of the Duke of Wellington. Eventually, he would become Sir Thomas Lawrence, one of Bristol's most famous artists.
1771,Richard Trevithick, Cornish engineer was born. The son of a mining captain, he performed poorly in school, but went on to be an early pioneer in steam-powered rail. Trevithick built the first full-scale working railway steam locomotive, called the 'Coalbrookdale Locomotive' in 1802. This replica is at Blists Hill Museum in Shropshire. He also built road locomotives including 'the Puffing Devil'. It was one of the world's first steam powered road vehicles to carry passengers. His working puffing devil was pioneered a full decade before Stevenson's rocket, meaning Trevithick was the true father of the railway.

Geevor Tin Mine's last days in the words of former Cornwall miners
This is one of the unspoken tragedies of the West country. Largely overshadowed by the pit closures in the North and the Midlands, a lot of the Cornish mines have also been shut down.
Mining, as a whole, was callously destroyed in the 60s-80s, turning from a country that produced into a country that consumed, turning us people who have had a connection to the land to economic units, from a profession that was passed from father to child to empty homes in mining villages that will soon be bought for cheap and turned into more profit making for globalcorp.
Take a moment and read these men’s stories and look at their pictures. All they that had, all that they were, all the history of their profession, all gone: all so we can continue this bizarre economic model and sacrifice to globalism.

Yet more mysterious fires that have spread to farms. To those who are keeping aware of these mysterious fires, this is another assault on our food supply.
Between the Ukrainian crisis, the sanctions, Bird flu lockdowns, the inflation, the meat taxes and now these continued fires that always seem to spread to farms and fertiliser plants, these fires only accentuate the food crisis.
You can be assured these fires won’t be properly investigated, It seems reasonable to assume that they are deliberate and deliberately targeting food production.
