Patriotic Alternative South West
This month, 6 Members of PA South West spent 2 nights wild camping and yomping on Dartmoor, braving snow, fog and a wind chill of -7⁰C.
Winter is a time of unbridled beauty and adversity - adversity that our people have endured for thousands of years.
Here in the South West, we embrace adversity, as it makes us stronger.
We'll be returning to Dartmoor in the Summer for a backpacking challenge, we hope to see you there!

IN MEMORIAM – TOMMY CROSSBONES
Last week, members of PA South West and South East attended the funeral of beloved Patriotic Alternative South West activist Mark Thompson, better known to many as Tommy Crossbones, who had been fighting a terminal illness for many years.
Tommy, originally from London, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and lifelong Millwall fan, who was well known among PA's cooking, camping and gardening communities for his endless passion and enthusiasm, his excellent recipes and his unmatched storytelling ability.
He was a man who could capture and hold the attention of a whole room full of people, and a man who you'd feel had been a lifelong friend, even if you'd only known him for a week.
Tommy is survived by his adoring wife, children, grandchildren and many, many friends.
Patriotic Alternative will ensure that Tommy's memory and story will not be forgotten.
Rest in peace our dear brother, our dear friend.

Patriotic Alternative South West
Camping year in Review
Since November 2023, Patriotic Alternative South West have hosted a monthly camp. Starting out initially as a few activists winter camping on land owned by friends and family, we now travel all around the South West and Wales for our monthly camps, and they've become popular and well-attended.
Regardless of the weather, temperature, or time of year, you'll find us in a field, forest, or hillside somewhere braving the elements and exploring the great beauty our land has to offer.
We decided to produce a camping year in review to give you a taste of what we've been up to over the past 12 months.
Next year, we will be doing the same, with much more ambitious camps and trips planned – stay tuned!

Patriotic Alternative South East
On 22nd February, over a dozen activists from South East and South West met in the Cotswolds in Oxfordshire for a joint social.
The days highlight was visiting The Farmer's Dog pub and Diddly Squat Farm Shop owned by Jeremy Clarkson.
They are proud to make sure everything sold is grown or reared by British farmers including British grown tea and wine. The same month the pub opened last year, Clarkson said he had banned Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The majority of activists went on a small walk through the historic town of Burford before stopping for a group photo.
Plenty of food, drink and great conversation was enjoyed by all at the beginning and end of the social.

Gloucestershire activists came together for a routine fitness session. A new member was welcomed, and everyone pushed themselves with a series of bodyweight circuits.

Members and activists from our community were joined by friends from the South East region on a trip to the famous Cheddar Gorge where they proudly unfurled a brand new banner that declared "England lives"!
The message was met with approval by both tourists and goats alike. It is not merely a statement of fact but a declaration of intent. We will not cowed, we will not be silenced.

Activists gave out food parcels and bottles of water, which were especially appreciated in the warm weather. Our pairs of trainers and socks were soon snapped up, and the hand sanitiser and t-shirts were especially in demand. As always, we were met with much gratitude and courtesy by our fellow British people who are down on their luck.

Patriotic Alternative South West
This week, PA South West Activists marched over 20 miles along the Ridgeway from Avebury to Uffington White Horse to celebrate Saint George's day.
Setting off at 9am with flags in hand, we stopped off at ancient monuments such as Barbury Castle and Weyland's Smithy en route, before meeting a few compatriots from the South East for a banner drop around 5pm.
We have many more events like this planned this year, from camps, hikes, outings and old traditions preserved in the modern day, come and play your part.
