On Wednesday 18th August 2021, activists from Patriotic Alternative Yorkshire protested at rush hour in Leeds City Centre outside the building of Migration Yorkshire to send a message; that Yorkshire residents stand against their plans to resettle Afghan migrants in their county.
On this day in 1589 Anne of Denmark was married by proxy to King James VI at Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, Denmark. James was represented by George Keith, 5th Earl Marischal.
Anne set sail within ten days of the proxy marriage for Scotland. But her ships were beset by storms and other problems, allegedly caused by witchcraft, and she was forced to seek refuge in Oslo, Norway. James eventually heard of her plight and set sail with a retinue of 300 to fetch his wife personally. He arrived in Oslo on the 19th of November and they were formally married in the old Bishop's Palace in Oslo on the 23rd of December 1589.
After visiting Copenhagen and Elsinore, they arrived back at the Water of Leith on the 1st of May 1590. Anne was crowned Queen on the 17th of May 1590 in the Abbey Church at Holyrood, the first Protestant coronation in Scotland.
She went on to have seven children, one of whom, Charles, would himself become King of England and Scotland. Anne died at the age of 44 in 1619 at Hampton Court Palace.

At a time when many arts organisations say they are struggling the Welsh Arts council has just wasted £50,000 to decide that it and the Museums of Wales are systemically racist and promote white supremacism.
The report was made by the nicely noscriptd Welsh Arts Anti-Racism Council. I think we can all imagine what type of "people" sit in that body.
Its seems because the Arts Council promotes the use of Welsh and wants some people in positions to be able to speak Welsh, it's racist. Terrible isn't it that they should actually try to encourage the use of their indigenous language. What horrible people.
It also states that they encourage the idea that to be Welsh you have to be white. Well, some would say that is fair enough. The indigenous population were white. The blood of the true Welsh are linked to its land. Just because you move to a country or are born there but have no longstanding links to the land does not make you Welsh or Scottish or English. Your blood and attachment to the land do.

The SNP And the Greens are looking to sign off their agreement to support each other in the Scottish Parliament. It appears Green party members will get a say in the deal but SNP members will not be consulted by Sturgeon's junta and will just have to accept whatever she has agreed with the Greens.
Sturgeon has no need of support from them, already holding enough seats to avoid being out voted by opposition parties. But Green support will make her unassailable in her position.
The question many ask is, what is in it for the Greens and what will it mean for the people of Scotland? Well, the answer is hard times and more degeneracy. The Greens are very much in favour of trans rights - a cause sturgeon herself is very keen on -so we can expect to see more of that and the GRA legislation being pushed forward. They also want more and more "rights" for prisoners.
The Greens also want an immediate end to the oil industry with the potential loss of 100,000 jobs. PA supports a greener Scotland but not at any cost.

On this day in 1689 the Battle of Dunkeld was fought in Perthshire between Highland clans supporting the deposed King James the VII and the Covenanters Cameronian Regiment supporting King William of Orange. The battle was part of the 1689 Jacobite rising also referred to as Dundee's rising, after Viscount Dundee one of James's supporters. The Jacobite's had already won the earlier battle of Killiecrankie . With the shock of the rapidly advancing Jacobite army,the Scottish privy council prepared to flee south but ordered the Cameronian's under William Cleland to move north and hold Dunkeld to block the advancing Jacobite army. The battle raged for 16 hours within the streets of Dunkeld and although the Cameronian's were outnumbered 4 to one they were eventually victorious forcing the Jacobite's to withdraw. The battle saw the destruction of large parts of Dunkeld and damage from Musket fire can still be seen on the exterior walls of Dunkeld cathedral.

Archbishop Thurstan of York had exerted himself greatly to raise the army, preaching that to withstand the Scots was to do God's work. The centre of the English position was therefore marked by a mast (mounted upon a cart) bearing a pyx carrying the consecrated host and from which were flown the consecrated banner. The battle was an English victory. But ultimately David was given control of much of Northern England in peace talks. Lands which he held for 20 years until his death.
