Vox accidentally admitted that Hollywood’s Golden Age was when it was heavily censored by the Catholic Church with the Hays Production Code.
Need this back…

Need this back…
This is only one page of the code but it has my favorite sentence, which basically embodies the core of the Hays Code. “No picture shall be produced which will lower the moral standards of those who see it.” That should be the standard for all media…

In regards to the parts in the Code about depictions of crime, I do actually think there can be a place in media for sympathetic villains. However, such depictions have to be used to create a broader positive moral lesson, and not just make the villain look good for the sake of it. Given how many shows and movies today are about degenerate criminals/gangsters/etc, the Code’s creators proved very wise in predicting where loose rules on this matter would lead.
Can we point out how these idiots are using statues from CLASSICAL AGE Greece as representations of the "Bronze Age"? The Classical Era was almost 500 years after the Bronze Age ended and well into the Iron Age. They don't even know the history they're claiming to represent

More states are following Louisiana and moving to force porn sites to have age verification.

Good, but what about websites like Twitter and Reddit that are full of porn without being “porn sites”? Ultimately only a TOTAL PORN BAN will truly solve this issue.

Still, I’m glad to see the anti-porn cause making progress. This shows that the problem is becoming increasingly difficult for governments to just ignore, as they’ve been doing for 30 years.
Soon.
I’m currently watching Evangelion, and let me get this straight.

Misato is a young, alcoholic, single woman but is also in a leadership position of the science program that the very EXISTANCE of humanity depends on?

We let anime get away with too much feminism, bros…
At least Asuka knows that girls and boys shouldn't be cohabitating
"Misato isn't feminist"

Oh, so it's NOT feminist for a piece of media to depict a woman in a top science/military leadership position? I guess Captain Marvel, Hidden Figures, Mamma Mia, and other such Western films/shows aren't feminist either then. Please.

Some people have a blind spot for anything anime and drop all standards as long as the message is sent through a physically attractive character.

A few years ago, I was open to the idea of ending Catholic clerical celibacy. But after continuously hearing arguments from both sides, I believe it should remain in place.

Feminism was an even more consequential issue in the 90s than it is today.

Back in the 90s, there was still legitimate debate in America and Japan about whether women should even be allowed in the military/police force/science fields/etc.

Feminism has been so pervasive that this debate isn’t had anymore, and it doesn’t occur to many people that women aren’t as good as men in science/military matters.
Women in Japan weren’t given serious roles in the military until the 90s and weren’t allowed to fly fighter aircraft until 2015. Couldn’t be in tanks or infantry units until 2017, or submarines until 2018.
Most media propaganda is subtle. It’s what’s shown, not told.

Let’s use an example of a villain wearing a cross necklace. Does the film ever come out and say he’s Christian? No. But the purpose is to subtly get the viewer to associate Christianity with evil in their minds.

No lies detected.
Well, technically I disagree that "adults have the right to live how they want" - EVEN in private. But good points overall.
