JULIAN ASSANGE IS FREE

Julian Assange is free. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stansted airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK.

This is the result of a global campaign that spanned grass-roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This created the space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, leading to a deal that has not yet been formally finalised. We will provide more information as soon as possible.

After more than five years in a 2x3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will soon reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars.

WikiLeaks published groundbreaking stories of government corruption and human rights abuses, holding the powerful accountable for their actions. As editor-in-chief, Julian paid severely for these principles, and for the people's right to know.

As he returns to Australia, we thank all who stood by us, fought for us, and remained utterly committed in the fight for his freedom.

🇦🇺 WITH THE MISINFORMATION AND DISINFORMATION BILL WITHDRAWN FROM FEDERAL PARLIAMENT FOR NOT REACHING VOTING SUPPORT THRESHOLD, THE LABOR GOVERNMENT HAS RAPIDLY PIVOTED TO PUSHING THROUGH A BAN ON SOCIAL MEDIA FOR CHILDREN UNDER 16 YEARS OLD.

Australians of All Ages Oppose this legislation which infringes on the rights of children to freely express themselves online, and conduct their digital lives and communicate with their friends and family.

🇦🇺 AUSTRALIA FREEDOM RALLY STANDS WITH THE YOUNG PEOPLE OF AUSTRALIA IN FULLY OPPOSING THIS LEGISLATION.

🆔 It is clear that this legislation in unenforceable without requiring that ALL Australian users provide Identity verification documentation.

The Albanese Labor Government has rammed this legislation through the parliamentary process with very little implementation details, very little enforcement details, and a shocking 24 hour period of time for public responses, to which they received over 15,000 (overwhelmingly negative) feedback responses.

For the rest of Australians over 16, we can clearly see that this legislation is a TROJAN HORSE for De-Anonymizing Social media accounts, and requiring full documentation and identification for all account holders.

Social Media enables all Australians to speak critically in opposition to the Government's Policy.

Young People will not be able to hear opposing viewpoints on global issues, and will be lied to by the Corporate Media until they are able to escape it.

Young people will use VPNs and bypass and restrictions placed on them within approximately 10 minutes, should this ban take effect.

We cannot allow children's safety to be used as an excuse for a broad ranging blanket Identification of Accounts, and the Banning of Young people from Social Media and the digital discourse.

THE UNDER 16 SOCIAL MEDIA BAN HAS BEEN PASSED THROUGH THE HOUSE AND SENATE.

In a single day, over 30+ bills were rammed through the senate approval vote, with little to no debate allowed by opposing members, in a process known as a guillotine.

This bill must be repealed before it takes effect.

And we must vote out every single member of the House and Senate that voted for this disgraceful and authoritarian legislation.

The @abcnews getting a foreign extremism expert to analyse what’s happening in Australian society reminds me of when our so-called “Racial Discrimination Minister” wrote an entire report claiming we’re all racist.

It’s pretty clear to every Australian why people are so upset. Decades of mass immigration has made our country unrecognisable.

As the national broadcaster, you’d think maybe you’d hold the Prime Minister to some sort of standard — but no.

We want to see these politicians answer to the public for the damage they’ve done to our cities and our standard of living.
