So, we have 60 members following the channel, and we achieved the target we set last week. Thanks to everyone!

We will be posting working GCam Update here from now on, so if you have tried other Gcam MOD that is entirely usable that aren't listed down here, kindly send a message in the discussion group, we will add it.

Also, we would like to share XML here. So, if you want to share your Gcam settings, leave that XML in the discussion group. And write what Gcam are you using and version too so that we can make a good post. (I guess nobody is going to do this, but let see.)

Anyway, below this post, there a poll for you guys to vote. Let's see what your reaction! We would conclude the poll result after a week. (If majority voted yes, I hope to see someone posting their XML. I hope it real.)

Hey there. New update this week. Thanks for 70+ members on channel & group. This post contained:
1. Verizon Pixel Bootloader Unlock (require money)
2. Verizon Pixel Telegram Group
3. XML Post (open to post)
4. Inviting Users (short story)

For people who want to unlock the bootloader of their Verizon Pixel device, you can contact 247830063@qq.com. Require money to do it, and the price is not low. If you know the Chinese language, you better use it to communicate with him, the price will be lower (maybe, not sure). I guess using the translator won't help, but give it a try if you want.

And there a group regarding Verizon Pixel, though, group link here: @MarlinSalfishVerizon. For the channel, check @PixelBootloaderResearch. The owner, Jared, is trying to find an alternative way to unlock it for free, but this takes time, so you will need to be patient.

And regarding last week's poll, you guys wanted to see XML post in the channel. So if you do want to post XML, you are welcome to do it. You need to write which cam (+ it version) is it for, done.

Lastly, this is a short story about inviting people to the channel & group (again, lol). Two weeks ago, I did the same thing. Here is the post if you want to know more. Among one of the invited users said he would invite some of his friends with Pixel over here, and I am pleased to hear that. As expected, some block me immediately; some guys are nice to me. Anyway, thanks to those people who joined, you are a nice guy! :)

Google Photos will end its free unlimited storage on June 1st, 2021

If you have a Pixel 5 device or earlier, your current backup quality options and benefits remain unchanged. Uploads in high quality from your Pixel 2-5 devices will continue to receive unlimited free storage. However, photos and videos backed up from other devices in high quality after 1 June 2021 will start to count towards your Google Account storage.

So in conclusion, Google Pixel 1/1 XL is going to get unlimited original quality forever.

Method for getting Google Photos unlimited original quality backup (for other phone):
1. Download the file attached to this post on your phone
2. Flash custom recovery that support file manager if you haven't
3. Go to Mount and check System
4. Go to Advanced > File Manager
5. Locate the file and move to /system/etc/sysconfig
6. Go to Mount again and uncheck System
7. Reboot to system and clear Google Photos app data
8. Launch Google Photos and the perk should be there, enjoy

If you have a locked bootloader Pixel device, try this:
1. Factory reset multiple times (Generally all you really need is factory reset in the recovery menus, recommend to do it about 10 times)
2. Update to latest DECEMBER patch using the OTA page on Google site, flash it then reboot your device
3. Try performing the CLASSIC adb exploit, tutorial here

Notes:
• Google patches this fast, last time it worked from July 15, 2020 till July 19, 2020
• Might not work on the first try

What's up, guys! Another weekly update. Many things happen this week too. Thanks again for achieving 80+ members on group & 90+ members on channel! This post contained:
• XML Post related
• New GCam
• Verizon Pixel Unlock Bootloader Update
• Google Photos unlimited backup

Since most of you are just using Camera PX, and it doesn't support XML backup & restore, so hence there is no XML post by the community. By the way, I expected such things to happen. Two weeks ago, I had made a poll and notes explaining about it. Anyway, anyone is welcome to post XML for other GCam if you want. I am not going to stop this activity anytime soon. Also, I will post mine down below this post for other GCam if you are interested.

Recently, there are a few GCam updates. Working GCam 8.0 Mod is also available now for our device. It is not really stable for our device, so keep in mind if you want to use it as your main camera application. I also found some fully working GCam 7.3 from other developers. Thanks for their hard work by the way. If you do find working GCam, share it, it helps us to discover more GCam to use.

Some good news here. Verizon Pixel users who have their Pixel locked can unlock now. Here we have a guide, so kindly check it. There evidence that someone get to unlock it recently, here the link. So, I hope you guys get to unlock it as soon as possible and get the freedom to flash ROMs.

Lastly, thanks to @Omelettou for testing the XML first and prove it is working. Since Google is ditching unlimited high-quality backup for other phones except for their existing Pixels, starting June 1st, 2021, you probably want to get the XML for your other phone. Besides getting back unlimited backup on Google Photos, its original quality backup, which means the same resolution of your photos & videos, is back up to the cloud service, like storing on a computer, but for free & no storage limit at all. So you get another benefit for using the XML, as it from a Google Pixel XL.
