Google is collaborating with iFixit to provide easier parts access for Pixel 2 and newer devices.

Following the Right to Repair bill and a similar announcement from Samsung and Motorola, Google has announced a partnership with iFixit where official parts and fix kits for Pixel phones will be available for purchase from iFixit’s online store.

Parts will be available for every Pixel phone since the Pixel 2, including the latest Pixel 6 phones (sorry, Pixel 1 owners), with plans to provide parts for future phone models as well.

This makes it one of the more comprehensive official OEM repair programs, with more device models being supported than Apple, which only supports the iPhone 12 and 13, and Samsung, which only supports their Galaxy S20, S21, and Galaxy Tab S7+.

Pixel 2 Repartition Awareness

Hi,

Just a quick word from me with regards to recent incident following a fellow user's personal walleye when it came to repartitioning.
I value each and every PixelExperience 12 and any of my work's audience and, personally after losing my walleye, I can say from experience that it's not the easiest thing to swallow.
I would like that although this is a rare situation of such to flash a Pixel 2XL repartitioning noscript on a Pixel 2, which has a completely different repartition table, I will be putting this swift action for any newcomers to prevent this mishap.
It is understandable that these things occur under stress and unfamiliarity with such sectors.
I condemn the action of shifting hate towards people who end up in such situations, and it is not okay to tease upon such costly events.
The focus here isn't that I'm making a big deal about adding one line to the repartition noscripts, it's more about the repercussions of such.
Let's kindly act maturely and together with the people in this community.
I'm open to feedbacks and complaints so feel free to keep going at that, I'm all ears.
I hope you took something from this quick update and wish all the best for those who need it.

Please, don't run fastboot erase abl command!

Some people reported, that they got a Private Message from OrangeFox "admin", that said they got the fix for the issue they're currently having.
We're officially informing, that those people aren't from our team. They're just plain impersonators.
OrangeFox Admins won't ever PM anybody without any reason, and permission to do so.

Seems like those bad people are just trying to HARD BRICK your device, spreading a bad word about OrangeFox too.
Most of the times, they send you the "fastboot erase abl" command, then block you, change their usernames and delete the chat history.

As a word of advice - Please, double check every "fastboot" command you're told to issue. Make sure you're texting the correct person, and not an impersonator too!

Basically, there's this guy impersonating Darthjabba9(orange fox developer) and is tricking people to erase their bootloader which is leading to brick their devices.

I have seen some people fbanning, gbanning these accounts which i don't think will help, what will actually help is being mature, staying aware of what's going on and referring to trusted sources for help.

Just don't follow everything a random ass dude says, use sources like XDA,YouTube, and Telegram groups which are under proper moderation for help.
