Pixel 6 owners on Verizon network won't be able to enjoy C-Band 5G just yet

5G still isn't available in many regions but some countries already got it covered. We know there are several variants of 5G, and US carrier Verizon has make C-Band 5G available to users with supported devices, but Pixel 6 series is out of luck for now.

The only Google Pixel devices that support C-Band 5G will be Pixel 6 & Pixel 6 Pro units that are sold in the US. Unfotunately, those who own it will still need to wait as Verizon listed as "coming soon" as reported by The Verge, while AT&T haven't mention anything about it.

C-Band 5G speed is somewhere between sub-6GHz and mmWave, while the coverage is wider than mmWave. Users would be able to enjoy a much faster network experience in more areas at least.

Accessibility freeze issue in Pixel 6 could be resolve in the February update, update releasing on the same date as other Pixels

If you own a Pixel 6 and using accessibility services, there chances your device could freeze when you are scrolling. After nearly a month time, Google has managed to fix it and it will be available on the February update.

Talking about February update, according to Canada carrier Fido, Pixel 6 is likely to receive the update on February 7, same as other supported Pixel devices. Earlier Google delayed December 2021 and January 2022 update for the Pixel 6, also those who have updated to the December update had also faced network connectivity issue, resulting Google to stop rolling out and removed the December update altogether.

Anyway hope that every issue can be resolved and make the Pixel 6 a usable phone with the February update.

Google is acknowledge of Pixel 6's DAC issue, fix might come in a few months time

Earlier there are already Pixel 6 users who use DAC reported that it isn't working with the phone. After nearly a month time, Google is acknowledged of the issue and currently investigating on a fix.

A Google staff has commented on a Reddit thread saying that they will be rolling out the fix "this coming summer," which means it might take a few months time in order for Google to push the fix out.

External DAC let users have the ability to have advantage of listening music in lossless quality, of course you will still need a premium headphone too. Nowadays this stuff isn't popular and only a very few amount of users are using it, so it doesn't really affect a lot of users, but still, it affected those who use external DAC anyway, hopefully Google can release the fix earlier.

Netflix finally has confirmed that Google Pixel devices that are released in 2021 are indeed getting HD and HDR support viewing experience.

Just recently, they have updated their support pages to include these three new Pixel devices, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, These Pixel users who have a subnoscription to the service might have noticed the HDR support is already there for awhile, and Netflix updating their support page is just to confirm that the device will be for sure having the HDR support.

Pixel 6 series is now available in Italy and Spain Google Store

Google's latest Pixel 6 series is now made available in both Italy and Spain Google Store.

The smaller Pixel 6 costs €649, while the Pro version is priced at €899. Both models are only available in Carbon/Just Black color variant, sadly. Google also noted that both devices are currently available in limited quantity, with additional devices to be made available around May. At the time of posting, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are still in stock for both regions.

*For your information, Google Store is not the only place to buy the Pixel 6. You can get it from trusted third-party sellers for different color variants of the phone and probably cheaper price, if you know where to get it.

Magic Eraser in Google Photos is crashing for some Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices

Google introduced Magic Eraser in Google Photos only for their Pixel 6 series. It's cool that you can remove items from the photos easily, but recently an update to the Google Photos app make the feature unusable.

Owners on Reddit and Twitter have been reporting such issue starting yesterday. When they used the Magic Eraser functionality, the app crashed. Some users tried basic troubleshoot to solve the issue, like clearing cache, rebooting the phone, but all of these doesn't help. Android Police mentioned that they are able to reproduce the issue with Google Photos app version 5.76.0.425427310 on their Pixel 6 unit.

Apparently this is not the first time that Google made such mistake, earlier they removed Magic Eraser feature for both Pixel 6 devices, but later it has been restored within a matter of time.

If you own a Pixel 6 and still have the feature working, you might want to make sure that you don't update Google Photos until Google fixed the issue.

Pixel 6 sales figure in last December were highest since Dec 2019

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet earlier reported that the Pixel 6 is a successful commercial sale for the company. If you are wondering how successful it is, here are some more information about it.

Marton, or better known as TechAltar, got some exclusive information from Counterpoint Research of the Pixel 6 sales figure, and later published it on his second channel. He said that in Q4 2021, Pixel 6 sold 7% more than the Pixel 5 in Q4 2020, and specifically in December the sale figure is up by 14% comparing to last December, which is also the highest sales record since December 2019.

Counterpoint Research also left a quote to him, saying that the Pixel 6 sales "were somewhat held back by shortages" at first, but later it improved as the supply slowly restored through Q4. The device is also selling up by 63% quarter-over-quarter, but since Google only released Pixel 5a in US and Japan, the stats isn't really surprising.

It seems like the Pixel 6 series could be Google's most successful Pixel phone ever after seeing this impressive statistics, but this is only just the beginning. It will be interesting to see how the sales figure continue to perform for the next few months.

Google released Photos app update to fix Magic Eraser crashing issue

After a few hours posting the incident, Google has responded over at Reddit that they have released an update to Google Photos which fixed the issue.

Users will need to update Google Photos app over to version 5.76.0.426251772 "or higher" in order to have Magic Eraser functionality working. The update is rolling out in Play Store and might take a few hours till the update is available for everyone.
