Google released Photos app update to fix Magic Eraser crashing issue

After a few hours posting the incident, Google has responded over at Reddit that they have released an update to Google Photos which fixed the issue.

Users will need to update Google Photos app over to version 5.76.0.426251772 "or higher" in order to have Magic Eraser functionality working. The update is rolling out in Play Store and might take a few hours till the update is available for everyone.

i fell asleep. here is the link to the build. knowing my luck there will probably be some tiny thing i overlooked and will have to do a version2 lol so i'm not gonna pin this yet but it seems okay except i did notice newly added custom screen off animations feature is buggy. it works at first but then reverts to the regular animation and you have to go toggle the setting to get it to work again. it was just added like last night or something though so it will get sorted i'm sure.

crDroid 8.1 (2-6-22) for Pixel 6 Pro(raven) Test Release:

-download zip and place in same folder in fastboot.exe
-open command prompt inside same folder
-reboot phone to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader)
** in command prompt run this commands (without the quotes "")
-"fastboot -w" to wipe userdata/factory reset if coming from different rom
base
-"fastboot update crdroid_raven-img-eng.albinoman887.zip"
-If done correctly it should start flashing, just leave it be. it will reboot a couple times during the process and when done it should reboot and be at the new device setup screen

Pixel 6 owners reporting Wi-Fi is broken on February update

Yesterday, Google has just released February 2022 update to all supported devices including the Pixel 6 at the same time. Welp, things aren't going well for the Pixel 6 series once again.

Earlier in last December, Google has borked Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro carrier network service and lastly reverted the December builds for the devices altogether. Now this time, they broke the devices' Wi-Fi connectivity. There are various reports from Reddit, Twitter and Pixel community, mentioning about the issue.

Users that faced the issue have tried all of the possible troubleshoot ways to fix the issue like toggling airplane mode, mobile hotspot, resetting network settings, restarting into safe mode, and even doing a factory reset doesn't help at all. Good news is that the issue isn't affecting every user out there, as mentioned by a few Redditors in the comment section.

Anyway, if you own a Pixel 6 and want to be on the safe side, it's better that you stayed on the January update for now.

So, there were 166 voters after a day.

The majority of y'all use a Spigen phone case with over 31% votes and no screen protector (44 percent), although the plastic and hydrogel screen protectors were popular as well - no surprise here as they protect your device from scratches while not making the under display fingerprint scanner perform worse like the glass ones do.
A lot of people also use the official Pixel and generic cases which is nice to know.
