Google Chat gaining Mark as unread feature
One of the most useful feature that Google Chats is lacking is a "Mark as unread" feature, and Google is starting to rolling out this feature.
You will be able to do this in Spaces and direct messages. On mobile, tap and hold on a message that would like to mark as unread from, or go into the conversation options and perform the action. On desktop web, hover over a message or tap on the ⋮ icon in the conversation list and you will find the options there.
With this feature, you could also mark as read without entering the chat. The feature is starting to rollout for the next 15 days to Google Workspace accounts. (Google Workspace Updates)

Google collaborate with Fuji Kaze, a Japanese music artist which his new music video will be shot on the Pixel 6
Official Website | Teaser Video
Google Japan is apparently really working hard on promoting the new Pixel 6 here and there. Before it officially launching, they collaborated with Fuji Kaze, to release a music video that will be entirely shot by Google Pixel 6.
Currently, there a teaser video which shows part of the music video, but it unclear how the video performance as it is a black white video + 1080p resolution. Anyway, the video is still shot quite well I can say.
Before the full music video goes live on Oct 24 6 pm JST (9 am UTC), there will be five commercial television channels showing a 30 second commercials clip respectively, which totalling up the duration of 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
This is definitely a big collaboration and Google is really pushing hard to let everyone in Japan knows that Pixel 6, the Google phone exist. (Google Japan)

Google Translate 6.24 refined the Material You design in the app
So a new Google Translate update arrived before the Pixel 6 launch. This updates bring a refined Material You redesign and also got several new stuff.
Google added quick access to your past translation history in the main home page and the account picker tool. The dynamic colors also got several improvements here and there. There also new UI for tap to translate which is based on Material You design.
So far this is the changes. Google seems to restrict access to the new UI for other devices, and it will likely be a Pixel 6 exclusive. Anyway for those who still want to download it, it linked below. (Mishaal Rahman)
Download (v6.24):
Play Store | APKMirror
Notes:
• Exclusive for Pixel 6 for now
• Not accessible via other devices

Google Canada randomly sending out boxes to Canadian personality, promoting Pixel 6 launch
Interestingly, so Google Canada is sending out random boxes to Canadian personality out there to promote their Pixel 6 launch.
There is a blue and white on half part of the box cover, with the Google logo and #teampixel on the right side. Inside the box there is tons of treats which is edible and useful. there is a water bottle with a big "Google" word written, a push-pop push pop confetti, colorful ganaches, Google Original Chips which is first released in Japan, some other snacks, and lastly an invitation card.
So far, I could saw 3 personality on Twitter (Jon Scarr, Marc Saltzman, Amber Mac) posting they got the surprise by Google, and they are all from Canada. All of them are not really tech enthusiast, but yet they still got it. This shows Google really want to promote the Pixel 6 to everyone in the country, same for US and Japan too.
