Auto revoke permission on Android is available for Android 6 and later devices
Mishaal Rahman
After a few months time of waiting, Google is rolling out auto revoke permission introduced in Android 11 back to devices running Android 6 or later.
The page is located over at Play Protect settings, you can access it by going to the profile picker, choose Play Protect and next the settings icon. Tapping the "Permission for unused apps" option will show you a list of applications which let you change the permissions for all installed applications.
The feature is already widely rolled out and enabled by default for all devices. When you haven't used some applications for a few months, Play Protect will take actions and show you a notification notifying you that the app permissions have been disabled.
*I hope Google could make it available for Android 11 and later though, as you get to change these settings easily.

Google trying to bring Bluetooth tracker detection over to Android natively
9to5Google
Bluetooth trackers have been gaining in popularity since Apple released AirTag. In order to track it on Android, you will need to install their companion apps and open it so the app can perform a search, but that's about to change as Google planned to implement native support of it.
In Play Services 22.12.13, there are strings which hint Google is bringing such features to the operating system:

In Play Services 22.12.13, there are strings which hint Google is bringing such features to the operating system:
<string name=”ble_tag_settings_activity_label”>Unfamiliar device alerts</string>
<string name=”unfamiliar_tag_channel_name”>Unfamiliar Tag Detected Notification</string>
There are three type of tags which will be supported when the feature first launch, which are AirTag and Tile, meanwhile there isn't a clear reference for the "Finder tag." After the tile is being identified by the Android device, you can then choose to ring it:<string name=”mac_address_note”>Note: You may not be able to ring the tag if its id has changed recently</string>9to5Google
Google looks to be building Bluetooth tracker detection directly into Android
Apple did not invent Bluetooth trackers, but AirTags popularized the category. Google could be making tracker detection a part of Android...

Gboard can magically insert emoji to what you have typed
XDA Developers
Earlier this month, Gboard has added Custom Text Stickers feature for Pixel users with Feature Drop update. Recently, it is discovered that Google is experimenting with a quick shortcut button to insert related emoji automatically according to the text you typed.
The magic wand button is located at the right side of the keyboard which replaces the voice typing button. Tapping on it will insert emoji at the back of the text, while tapping it the second time will insert emoji between words.
If you're a person who likes to insert emoji in your message, this feature will be helpful as you no longer needs to manually search through the emoji list and hence saving time. The feature isn't widely available yet at the time of posting.

Google Recorder got support for landscape mode which people rarely used it
9to5Google
Google Recorder 3.5 has introduced dynamic color support and a new quick settings tile. Apparently there is a forgotten feature a lot of us didn't notice and use after all, landscape mode. The controls will be available on the right side while the rest of the content will show on the left.
This will have been useful if Google made the Recorder app available for all devices, large screen devices like tablets and foldables will be able to take advantage of this feature. By the way, this kind of hint the release of a Pixel foldable is on its way.

YouTube seems to be trying out new ways to let viewers interacted with videos they have watched.
You can add your reaction by opening the comments section and choose one from the available list. All reactions added by other users are anonymised but you will be able to see what's people thought at a particular part of the video.
For now, the feature isn't widely available, and there's seems to be only eight reactions as shown in the image attached.

Android 13 could bring improvements to eSIM support
Esper Blog
SIM card has still been the most common way to let you connect to cellular networks, receiving phone calls and more. eSIMs can do the same things without the physical card, and Google is ready to improve it with the release of Android 13.
Most flagship phones released nowadays come with one single eSIM embedded chip inside it, and you can only activate one single line at a time till now. Google's implementation is to enable connection from two different carriers at the same time with only one eSIM embedded chip, by integrating multiple enabled profiles (MEP) support.

Your Gboard could auto-switch languages in Google Translate
9to5Google
Soon when you change the language you wanted to translate from in the Google Translate app, Gboard could also follow and change the keyboard language accordingly.
For example, you have changed the "Translate from" language to Spanish, and your keyboard language is currently set to use English, Gboard would be able to detect it and change to the Spanish keyboard layout. When you exit the app, your keyboard will revert back to the language that you have used earlier. That means you no longer need to manually switch the keyboard languages after changing it in the Translate app.
This change is widely available with the latest stable version of both Gboard (version 11.5) and Translate (version 6.33).
