New Backup by Google One rolling out to everyone
Google started rolling out the new backup UI as server side test back in July.

Now you can access the UI through Settings > System > Backup (vary between device). Main toggle option have been renamed to Backup by Google One. There a new addition in it which is MMS backup. (9To5Google)

Google parodied Jony Ive for its like of headphone jack, but can't include one on the Pixel 6
Team Pixel made a YouTube video about Pixel 5a (5G), promoting 3.5mm headphone jack advantage through aesthetic point of view.

LOL, at this point Google forgot the history of his Pixel. In the first Pixel promotion video, they included this phrase "3.5mm headphone jack satisfyingly not new" to make fun of Apple removing it. (9To5Google)

Google paying Apple $15 billion to maintain search dominance on Apple devices
Google has been default search engine on Apple devices for quite a while. Last year they are believed to pay $10 billion for this.

Now Google will pay nearly $15 billion in FY 2021 (Apr 2021 ~ Mar 2022). Why Google doing that you ask? They want to ensure Microsoft doesn't outbid it. Microsoft has it own search engine called Bing if you don't know yet. (Android Central)

An interesting speed test between Google recent Pixel. All three Pixel devices have the same Snapdragon 765G chipset in it, performance should be equivalent?

Google Chrome getting new bookmark & download panel UI
1st & 2nd: New download panel UI, 3rd & 4th: New bookmark page UI

On Chrome Canary 95.0.4626.2, there two new flags available which enable fresh new UI for bookmark page & the download panel.

All these changes are making button bigger to follow Android 12 new Material You design language. (XDA-Developers)

Google Pixel 6 launch event coming soon, earlier than iPhone 13 release (also tip Android 12 release date)
So as you guys know, Google Pixel 6 is coming with Android 12 for sure as Google themselves confirmed. So a Weibo tipster rumored that Pixel 6 launch could be on September 13., meanwhile iPhone 13 will be on September 15, earlier two days. (Android Authority)

*Own opinion: So if Google releasing on that date, Android 12 stable is around the corner and there not going to be Android 12 Beta 5 most likely.

Google is investigating Pixel 5a overheating issue
In the past few days, many people with Pixel 5a has reported overheating issue while using the camera app. This is also exactly same when Pixel 5 first release.

Recording a few minutes of 4K video pop up the warning message, saying that device is too hot. After getting many reports like this, Google is currently finding the reason of causing the issue to happen. Hopefully it will get fix soon. (Android Authority)

Gboard get new circular keypress popups on Android 12
Google has been rolling out more redesign for Gboard over the past few weeks, from keyboard layout, to the app settings, and now adding finishing touch to the keyboard itself.

When pressing a key, you will get a circle popup, previously it is just rectangle shaped. Also this applied to long press popup panel for any key too, from letters to numbers to symbols, any of it. (9To5Google)

Time Insight is a new feature in Google Calendar, helps you understand how you spend time across meetings & collaborators.

Time Insights is only available on desktop site only, The data it shows are Time breakdown, Time in meetings & People you meet with.

The data is only visible to yourself only. You can view other people's Time Insights if you have the permission "manage sharing access" for their calendars. (Google Workspace Blog)

Getting GPLv2 Compliance From A Chinese Company- In Person!
So a Chinese YouTuber visited a Chinese OEM Company UMIDIGI, to get kernel source code.

Someone on Twitter posted that he/she wanted kernel source code for the device UMIDIGI F2. Later, an employee at that company reply that you could get the source code by visiting the company, and the employees there only speak Chinese.

Later, a YouTuber tweeted that she visited the company and try to get it. This tweet later went viral. After a few days, the full video is live on her YouTube channel. Watch it here. (YouTube)

South Korea to stop Apple & Google from forcing app developers to use their own billing system
Recently, app developers are having argument across app store own billing system, as tech giant get to collect 30% of the payment from the user.

Now, South Korea media has written that the amendments to the Telecommunications Business Act will "bar app market operators from forcing certain payment systems on mobile content businesses." This means Apple App Store & Google Play Store won't be allowed to force app developers to use their billing system.

Wall Street Journal reported that app store operators that failed to follow the rules could be fined up to 3% of their revenue in South Korea. (Android Authority)

Google Pixel 6 will get up to 23W wireless charging speed with the new Pixel Stand
So earlier there a rumor that the new Pixel Stand comes with fan to cool down the device, also tip that new Pixel might support higher wattage of wireless charging.

Google has been working on Material You redesign for its apps, and now it reached Play Store. Currently this is hidden and not rolled out to anyone yet.

What's New:
• Pill shaped search bar (with Material You element)
• Redesign bottom toolbar (with Material You element)
• Added Google Play Store feedback (to help improve Play Store experience)
• High level tick box to select everything in Manage tab
