New Pixel smartphone being tested in India
stufflistings
According to Mukul Sharma (stufflistings), a well known leaker there are undergoing tests of a Pixel smartphone in India, possibly the Pixel 6a!
Google India might try to get some sales from people trying to upgrade from the now two year old Pixel 4a as it's the last officially sold Google Pixel device there.
(thanks to @Master_Yuval for that info ♥️)

Pixel 6a near its release, production began right before Google I/O
stufflistings
According to rumors, the Pixel 6a has started it's production in multiple Asian countries.
What interesting is in this leak though, is the usage of (NFC) next to the device name which could mean the lack of a 5G modem in the device (hopefully it's going to be better than the one in Pixel 6)
In a tweet below, Mukul has stated that Google will be distributing the phone in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and possibly India adding two new countries with official sales of Pixel devices.
(thanks to @bforbintangs for letting us know about this ♥️)

CarterPCs
In preparation for tomorrow's event, Google decided to send influencers, like CarterPCs a package with a few gadgets including a Google I/O keynote bingo.
Besides the bingo card, there are also cookies, a Nest Mini 2 speaker, non edible slime, a poster and a water bottle.
I have no clue what to write more, go watch the TikTok i guess?

#ChromeOS
ChromeOS 101 is rolling out on the stable channel with few changes.
9To5Google
Changelog:
- Brand new dark boot screen featuring a white Chrome logo followed by “chromeOS.” Besides the night-friendly background change, note the lack of a space.
- Brand new Firmware Updates menu (in Settings > About Chrome OS). It replaces how accessory updates on Chromebooks previously occurred automatically in the background. That approach led to some issues, and this new UI is meant to address upgrades that take longer periods of time
- Linux Subsystem uses Debian 11 (bullseye) over Debian 10 (buster). You can upgrade it in settings
- Network-based recovery for restoring ChromeOS without a USB Image of it made from a different device
- The floating launcher is now seen for some users, if you don't have it use

Google shows off 3 demos in the brand new AI Test Kitchen app
https://aitestkitchen.withgoogle.com/
In the future you will be able to talk and give feedback of Google's LaMDA artificial intelligence in the 3 demos:
Imagine It: Name a place and LaMDA will offer paths to explore your imagination.
List It: Name a goal or topic and see how much LaMDA can break it down into multiple lists of subtasks.
Talk About It (Dogs Edition): Roll with the conversation and see where it goes. It’s just a fun, kinda-weird, open-ended chat.
