Lookout added Images mode with ability to work offline
Lookout by Google is an app which helps people who have difficulties in vision to explore the world around them. A recent update for the app has brought in several improvements.
Lookout has a new feature which can let you hear a denoscription generated based on the image you shared to the app from any place. For some reason, I couldn't get any caption, just only denoscription alongside with text if it could detect. Currently it is still in beta, so it is understandable that it might not work well in certain conditions.
Existing modes like Text, Documents, Explore and Food labels have received improvements which will help users to recognise more stuff. Besides that, it can work without Internet connection too. No matter where you are, you can use the app without any hassle as long as your device still has a battery to work.

Duo and Meet, two-in-one
Google Workspace Updates
With the impact of COVID-19, more and more people are starting to use video conferencing platforms like Meet in order to connect with their colleagues, classmates and more. Since then, Google has also brought in a lot of new features for Meet like virtual backgrounds, raise hand, host controls, you name it.
On the other side, Google Duo is a video calling app which is meant for personal use, but since 2020, Google Meet is available for everyone and more people prefer to use it around the world, hence making Duo an extraordinary platform.
After several internal discussions, Google has decided to merge Duo and Meet into a single platform, with the Meet app getting pulled down from the Play Store soon, and Duo will be renamed to Meet. Basically this means Google will start to bring all the Meet features over to Duo which are available for free to use.
As Duo has its own set of features, admin of an organisation can still restrict users from using it by turning off Additional Google services control in Admin Console. This will not impact the functionality of Meet.
Google didn't mention when it will start to roll out yet, but what we know is that the transition will be starting later this year.

Android Auto for phone screens coming to the end of its life
9to5Google
The phone screen experience of Android Auto is going away soon as Google started to show banner on it. The banner just said "Android Auto for phone screens will stop working soon" and that's all, no other details are provided. No one knows when it will completely shut down, but it's happening soon.
Well, this is kind of expected as Google didn't make the application itself compatible with Android 12 and later version. They also said Assistant Driving Mode will be replacing it, becoming "the built-in mobile driving experience."

Google temporary stop RCS ads in India as users receive tons of it
Android Authority
Nobody like advertisements as it interrupts our experience, which is annoying. Those who are in India using RCS are actually getting a lot of promotional messages for quite a while, and Google decided to disable the feature temporarily to stop all this mess.
Apparently Google allowed businesses to deliver ads via RCS, but it is discovered that some businesses in India are abusing the use of the feature by sending multiple ads in a short amount of time, hence why Google had to take this action as a spokesperson confirmed about it:
"We are aware that some businesses are abusing our anti-spam policies to send promotional messages to users in India. We are disabling this feature in India while we work with the industry to improve the experience for users."
Although you might not see ads for a while, it will be returning after some time as Google didn't say they are stopping ads on RCS forever.

I enabled RCS on Google Messages and all I got was ads (Update: Google responds)
If ads have started to appear in your Google Messages app, you're not alone. The RCS messaging standard may be responsible.
