Google Maps can now tell Air Quality Index in U.S.
Google Blog
Google Maps is not just an ordinary map, as it is smart enough to tell you whether there is wildfire happening, COVID-19 status of a country, and now it can tell air quality of a place too.
Health is important and we definitely want to avoid places that are heavily polluted, so now it is possible to easily know whether it's good to have outdoor activities at that particular region or not. You can enable it by tapping Layers (top-right) > Air quality. These data are provided by Environmental Protection Agency (AirNow) and PurpleAir. You can check more details of a specific site by tapping on the dot or bubble.
This feature is currently only available in U.S. regions, but hopefully Google could extend it and make it globally available one day. It is also live on the mobile apps for now. Besides, searching on Google about widfire or air quality of an area will now show you associated air quality information.

Google Classroom: Better tools for both teachers & students
Google Blog
Google Classroom is about to receive some new updates later this year.
With practice sets, teachers can create interactive assignments and students get to learn better. Currently it is in beta but if one is interested, you can sign up to get notified about the feature availability.
Classroom add-ons will be available soon to Google for Education Plus or the Teaching and Learning Upgrade, everything can be done right on the Classroom page without having to bother about logging in the service anymore, and teachers can manage grades much easier.
In addition, admins can sync the student information system (S1S) directly to Classroom, everything will get organised and it will be a one-click away for teachers to accept when their course is created, and will be made available in 15 more countries.
Lastly, teachers and students will soon be able to reply to classroom or private comments directly from the email itself.

#Contacts
Google Contacts redesigned contact page is rolling out to more people
I don't know if anyone uses Contacts to their full potential or not, but anyway the new look of Google Contacts seems to be widely rolling out I guess. You can check it out yourself and see whether you got it or not.
The edit contact option was previously a FAB, but the new design has moved the option over to the top. Functionality wise nothing has changed, just some slight changes to the design, and that's pretty much it.
And well, I have some fun facts to share when writing this:
• Sundar Pichai's birthday is on June 10 (which is tomorrow at the time of posting)
• If the email address you added has a profile picture, that will be automatically added to the contacts page itself.

Google Meet: Learn easily anywhere
Google Blog
Google Meet is receiving some helpful features to make it a better place for learning.
Earlier we have known that picture-in-picture is arriving on desktop, letting you see up to four participants in a popup window while letting you navigate between different windows and tabs. It will be only available on the Chrome browser. Admins can also now control to choose which users can have access to a particular feature.
Soon over at livestream, users will be able to participate in Q&A and polls. Furthermore, Meet will be able to auto-transcribe calls into a Google Doc, this way you get to save more account storage. Schools can also stream Meet calls over to YouTube for large events. These three features are only available if the account is part of Google Workspace for Education Plus and the Teaching & Learning Upgrade.
There are also some improvements for accessibility features, like individualized accessibility preferences and alt-text in Gmail.

🎉 Happy Birthday to Google Pixel Hub!
Hey there, don't worry, i didn't forget the channel, have been busy in real life and decided to take a break. To be honest, I didn't expect a few more people joining in and waiting for the next post on this channel,
By the time of posting, I am still pretty much busy. I personally haven't been catching up with all the stuff that Google has recently announced, just only some of the important ones like monthly updates and Android 13 beta. Anyway, as the channel is hitting its 1st year anniversary, I wanted to celebrate it with this post, at the same time, let's bring it back to life.
Yeah, I can't just continue with posting short articles about various stuff every day, so I decided to turn it into something similar to blog which I will only share some topics that I am interested in, which will include those Pixel related news you used to get for sure. By the way, one week till Pixel 6a and Pixel Buds Pro public release.
I guess for some, you can probably decide to unmute the channel as I won't be mass posting in the future most likely. You can also follow our other channels if you don't know yet by checking the pinned message or denoscription. Anyway happy birthday Google Pixel Hub and at last, have a nice day and hope you are doing great in your life.
