Google Maps launch 6 new features for India

Google has announced 6 new features for Maps in India, including support for incident reports on Android Auto.

1) Narrow Roads Assistance
By using an AI model that considers satellite images, Street View data etc, Google estimates road widths & adjusts routing algorithms to avoid narrow roads.

2) Flyover Navigation:
Google Maps now highlights taking flyovers.

3) EV Charging Stations
Google has partnered with ElectricPe, Ather, Kazam, and Statiq to provide detailed information including real-time availability, plug types etc for 8,000 EV charging stations

4) Metro Ticket Booking
In collaboration with ONDC and Namma Yatri, Google Maps now supports metro ticket booking in Kochi and Chennai.

5) Simplified Incident Reporting
Users can now report construction, traffic mishaps & other incidents easily on Android Auto.

6) Curated Lists from Local Experts
Google has made it easier to create, share, & collaborate on lists of favorite places.

Google Pixels will be available to purchase from offline retail stores in India

For years, Google Pixels have only been sold online that too only through Flipkart e-commerce and not even on Amazon officially in India

But now, Google Pixels 9 series will be available to try in retail outlets too like Croma or Reliance Digital and it will not be Flipkart-exclusive anymore. Thus, customers in India can first try/experience Google Pixels in stores and then decide whether to buy them or not.
