Android 12 Dynamic Color theming system could go open source soon
Android 12 stable is set to release on October 4 for Google Pixel devices. Some OEMs also started to test Android 12 Beta, but one key things they are lacking is Dynamic Color support, good news is that it would arrive in the future.

Google wallpaper based theming engine (a.k.a Dynamic Color), codename "monet", suggest that it will be fully open source in Andoid 12.1. It works as a palette generation algorithm which create 2 neutral and 3 accent colors, also there are 12 shades of Material color which is used to decide which hues is the closest to the device wallpaper colors. These color values are later saved in an index which the app can contact through the API, which allow the app to be themed too.

Google recently commited a code change which show "add monet to AOSP", and it was recently cherry-picked to the internal Android 12-sv2 branch. which will be Android 12.1, XDA suspect. (XDA-Developers)

A YouTuber might have hint he is using the Pixel 6
Kind of off topc but here something related to Pixel at least. Arun Maini, known as Mrwhosetheboss for his YouTube channel, might be hinting he is using a Pixel 6 (Pro) device.

He tweeted this:
"Holy moly - I've just started using a phone, that takes the best photos I've seen by a MILE.

It's not the iPhone..."

Many people under the tweet commented he must be using the upcoming Pixel. Do you think it is? I am betting he is. (Arun Maini)

Google Photos Locked Folder coming to Android 6+ devices

UPDATE:
The feature has widely rolled out to non-Pixel devices.

Ah yes, I knew this will come when Google announced it in the June Pixel Feature Update. Google Photos Locked Folder will be rolling out widely to Android 6 and later devices.

What this feature do is that it will securely keep your photos and videos in the folder, and it will not be accessible anywhere, even in Google Photos. It will required a device screen lock or biometric in order to access it. It is located at the Library tab > Utilities > Locked Folder.

User won't be able to take screenshot when viewing the secure folder, and there is only two options available inside it, move or delete the media. Once the feature roll out, likely server side, Google Photos will pop a notification about it and you can start setting it up after pressing the notification. (9To5Google)
