Auto Dark theme for site features may be coming to Chrome soon
Currently in older version of Chrome, you can force enabled dark mode for all websites by using this flag chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark. In Chrome 96 for Android, there a new chrome://flags/#darken-websites-checkbox-in-themes-setting flag which enable auto dark theme for all websites.

You will first see Disable/Enable Auto-Dark for site option in the popup menu. In Theme settings, you will also see Darken websites checkbox. In site settings, there also a dedicated settings for that too. Here you can add site that you don't want to be in dark mode or affected by it if the site have native dark mode support but doesn't look correctly.

For now, Chrome 96 is still in Canary and these features aren't working well yet. The only one which work correctly is the Darken websites in the Theme settings. Anyway nice to see these features is coming for Chromium browser natively.

Google Chrome sidebar search in action
XDA once reported that Google Chrome will be getting sidebar search feature, and here you go, here how it looks like on Chrome.

In order to enable this feature, first you will need to enable the "Side search" flag: chrome://flags/#side-search. Once enabled, after clicking on a search result, there will be a Google "G" logo appearing at the left side of the address bar. Clicking it open up a small panel on the left with the Google search page in mobile-like web. Clicking the results shown in the small panel will open up the page in the tab you are currently opening.

The flag is only available in Chrome 96 Canary desktop for now. Also there might be more stuff added in the future, like side search clear cache when close and side search state per tab so we will keep an eye on that if there is any changes. (9To5Google)

Dual pane notifications panel, Settings, and lockscreen on Android 12.1
When you see dual pane design on Android, it most likely it a big screen device which are meant for tablet or foldable devices.

Here we can see that the notification panel has some of biggest changes we ever seen. With the quick settings on the left and notifications center on the right. XDA also reported that it could show 3 column Quick Settings panel when the screen density exceeds a certain value. For the settings, it largely the same design with most tablet nowadays.

The lock screen also has a big redesign too. With the clock and date on the left and notifications on the right. The lock icon is centered and also much bigger. The icon currently isn't really visible, hope Google will fix this before it released to stable channel. You can also shift the PIN/password keypad to one of the side for easier unlock with one hand. Here how Android 12.1 taskbar works
For a tablet or foldable to be more capable of multi-tasking, taskbar is one of the core feature, and Android 12.1 introduce it.

With the taskbar, you can quickly switch between apps by simply tapping on the app icon, drag and drop an app to launch it in split-screen mode, hide it from view via touch and hold the taskbar. The taskbar and the app dock is the same if you noticed it, also the taskbar will appeared back once users exits an app. Currently up to 5 apps can be added, probably it likely to change in the future though. Android 12.1 gets new split screen and recent apps UI
So Android 12.1 split screen divider line is now more prominent, also it dark gray instead of being black. There is also App Pairs, but it is not currently possible to add one to the home screen yet. By the way, one cool feature though, double tap the split screen divider to swap the positions of the app that you opened.

The recent apps overview has a subtle tweak here in Android 12.1. The most recent card still remain the same, while rest of the cards are now smaller in size and arrange in a 2 row grid. There also a "split" button below the most recent card. (XDA-Developers)
