I want to share my sad story about a missed opportunity because of people who send private messages trying to steal gifts.

I don’t live a wealthy life, and for some time I was saving money. This spring, I decided to invest in something valuable. On April 24, I bought a Plush Pepe with all my savings for 429 TON. Just four hours later, a stranger messaged me with an offer to buy my frog for 570 TON. I wasn’t planning to sell so quickly, but he insisted on buying it through the marketplace, not directly, using a guarantor. So, I listed it again for his offered price.

I realized he was a scammer when he started asking me to make a video call and share my screen “to check” if the gift wasn’t stolen. My mistake was leaving Pepe on the market, because a couple of weeks later the price started to grow — and mine was bought at the very beginning. The growth continued after that.

In the end, I decided to try investing in cheaper gifts, and in June I spent everything I had on the ones I could afford. But I wasn’t lucky again: I bought them at the peak, and over time their value dropped by 2–4 times.

As fate would have it, right now I could really use the money I might have earned from selling my #429, but instead I lost even the amount I originally invested.

Friends, be careful! In 99% of cases, people who message you privately offering to buy your gifts are scammers!
