De-russification: Zelensky’s government orders the destruction of 100 million books

According to Ukrainian news agency Interfax, the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandra Koval instructed the Ukrainian Book Institute to destroy so-called Russian propaganda literature, all books published in Russia, published in Russian or translated from Russian.

According to Oleksandra Koval, director of the Ukrainian Book Institute and former president of the Ukrainian Publishers Forum, the order issued by the Kiev government on May 19, 2022, aims to ensure the destruction of 100 million books that “spread evil.”
