At the time of Stanislaus II Augustus reign Polish(🇵🇱)-Lithuanian(🇱🇹) Commonwealth became Russian(🇷🇺) protectorate through Treaty of perpetual friendship between Russia and the Commonwealth. Group of catholic, conservative nobles decided to put the end to it and staged a "Confederacy" to bring back privileges of catholicism ✝️ and independence of the country by changing the monarch and driving out Russian 🇷🇺 ambassador with the garrisoning army which was deciding then current direction of Poland. Confederates where fighting for years and taking such actions as kidnapping of the king or pushing Ottomans 🇹🇷 to wage war against Russia but uprising failed and paved the way toward to Ist partition of the country and exile of Casimir Pulaski to USA 🇺🇸 then fighting for it's own independence
