With real body:

The area between the open and the close is called the real body, price movements above and below the real body are shadows. Shadows illustrate the highest and lowest traded prices of an asset during the time interval represented. The body illustrates the opening and closing trades.

Without real body:

A candlestick that has no real body or only a very small one is named a doji. In a doji, the open and the close are at the same or nearly the same level. On its own, a doji doesn’t tell you much about market sentiment except that market is indecisive and sentiment is in a transitional phase.
