Multiple #PhD Positions
I have multiple openings for PhD students interested in research at the interface of industrial sensor data analytics and large-scale optimization to support active projects in energy and smart mobility (funded through DoE and NSF). Primary objectives of the projects are (i) developing novel methods that harness real industrial sensor data (from hydropower, wind & solar energy and automotive assets) to produce predictions on asset remaining life, and (ii) building large scale mathematical programming models that integrate these predictions for operations and maintenance optimization. Students with strong mathematical background in data analytics and/or optimization, and robust programming skills are preferred. I welcome applicants with degrees in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and related fields. The selected candidates will have the opportunity to attend international conferences, collaborate with other universities and national laboratories, and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team. Interested applicants should apply by sending their resume, unofficial trannoscripts, test scores, and sample publications, (if available) to murat@wayne.edu. Please include “PhD Applicant” in your subject line.
Position: PhD in Industrial Engineering
Preferred Start Date: Fall 2021
Deadline for Application: July 30, 2021 (earlier applications are encouraged)
