#PhD Fellowship

Call for ZD.B Fellowships 2020 Applications

The ZD.B Fellowship comprises the funding of a research position according to TV-L E13 (100%) to perform a doctoral project at a Bavarian state University (i.e. University or University of Applied Sciences) for a period of generally three years. The funding is scheduled to start from 01.01.2020.

The funding program is also an opportunity to enable more qualified women to get into leading management positions within science, business and society. For this reason, we would like to explicitly encourage female candidates to apply for a ZD.B Fellowship.

Requirements

· Excellent Master degree or comparable, state-approved final degree which qualifies for a doctorate at a Bavarian state University

· Research proposal with a meaningful technical, economic and/or social focus in the field of digitization within a duration of three years

· Declaration of support by the doctoral supervisor at a Bavarian state University – in case of a cooperating or combined doctorate between a University and a University of Applied Sciences, e.g. within the framework of a BayWISS-Verbundkolleg, a joint declaration of support of both supervisors is required (for further details see the application form)

· Initial experience in scientific publishing, international experience and very good knowledge of German and English are beneficial



The selection process is primarily based on the applicant’s personal aptitude, his/her technical qualifications as well as on the research project’s scientific quality.

The application documents have to be submitted electronically (1 PDF-document, max. 7MB) to fellowships@zd-b.de until September 30, 2019. Only applications fulfilling the formal requirements will be considered.

Detailed Research (Job Denoscription)
-Deduce insights with the latest AI analysis technology and perform diagnosis and prediction
-Data processing, utilization, performance, operation management, and comprehensive execution plan

Preferential (Skills)
-Experience understanding and utilizing AI, analytics algorithms, and associated tools (AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Statistics, TensorFlow, Keras, AutoML, etc.)
-Experience using Linux development environment and Python, R, Java, MATLAB, Octave, etc.
-Experience in developing pattern recognition (fault detection, diagnosis of energy systems, etc.) using deep learning such as DAE, DNN, CNN, etc.
-Experience in energy forecasting modeling using deep learning such as LSTM and GRU
-Development experience in electric load, renewable energy, IoT, sensor application, etc.
-Define and apply big data service, environmental analysis, and analysis model
-Skill in establishing performance and operations management

Appointment renewal
1-year contract renewable depending on the achievement
Annual salary is around 40,000,000 KRW (Gross)
The salary may be increased if the applicant satisfies the following conditions:
Strong achievement in the publications during the employment duration.
In the case of initial appointment, depending on the number of submissions for Q1/Q2 journals currently under reviews or in revisions

Appointment should be done before Oct. 1st, 2019
