In this Natural Catastrophe Specialist (Flood) role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of Swiss Re's flood risk models, working closely with peers in the global Cat Perils team as well as with the teams, who apply the models for making the right business decisions.

You would be joining the Cat Perils EMEA & Methods team, one of the three regional teams in the Cat Perils department. The Catastrophe Perils ("Cat Perils") department is responsible for Swiss Re’s global natural catastrophe risk assessment. About You

Technical skills and education:
Master’s degree or higher in quantitative natural sciences, engineering or equivalent with expertise in flood dynamics and modelling
2+ years' experience in natural catastrophe modelling (probabilistic models, flood), preferably in a re/insurance context
In-depth knowledge of climate-change-related topics and extreme weather events in particular
Strong analytical and programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab, and SQL), with a record in successfully developing data analysis applications
Strong project management, communication, and presentation skills
Excellent written and verbal English, additional languages are a plus
A clear plus would be (re)insurance underwriting experience and familiarity with machine learning techniques.
