SPIRIT facilitates knowledge exchange between researchers in Switzerland and researchers in a range of low- and middle-income countries.
SPIRIT, the Swiss Programme for International Research by Scientific Investigation Teams, funds research projects submitted by excellent research consortia from two to four countries. Researchers from all disciplines can apply for a SPIRIT grant; the topics are chosen by the researchers themselves. SPIRIT grants contribute to the education of researchers in all participating countries. Special focus is given to equal opportunities and the promotion of women scientists, as well as to raising awareness of gender-specific questions. Approximately twelve projects can be funded per year.
Reading the Guidelines for the submission of SPIRIT applications is recommended.

Dear colleagues,
We are seeking applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position focused on the application of numerical modeling to investigate interactions between permafrost change, groundwater flow, and subsurface solute transport in fractured and faulted hydrogeological settings. Model scenarios will be based on both archetypical settings as well as site-specific hydrogeological characterization.
Further details can be found in this Google Doc or at my X account (@DalHydro). Applications should be emailed to Dr. Barret Kurylyk (barret.kurylyk@dal.ca). Only applicants to be interviewed will be contacted. Review of applications will commence on September 1, 2024, and the anticipated start date is November 1, 2024 or soon afterward.
Kind Regards, Barret Kurylyk
