Something surprising happens when you heat paraffin wax to its boiling point and then immediately cool it in an ice bath. When any vapor condenses, it releases energy to the surroundings and in this case the energy is sufficient to ignite some of the wax vapor nearby. This is a dangerous demonstration, and should not be attempted. I did the demonstration in a lab with proper protective equipment and within a proper fume hood. Do not attempt!
