▫️POSTDOC OR PH.D BIOINFORMATICS: LIQUID BIOPSIES IN PRENATAL AND CANCER DIAGNOSIS

The Laboratory for Cytogenetics and Genome research at the Center for Human Genetics develops tools for preimplantation, prenatal and cancer diagnosis. Currently, we are developing new approaches to improve non-invasive prenatal and cancer diagnosis.

▫️Project

The postdoc/Ph.D will implement and develop bioinformatics tools to improve genome wide haplotyping within liquid biopsies.She/he will develop novel methods enabling epigenetic analysis of liquid biopsy material.She/he will improve proprietary methods to broaden the medical scope of liquid biopsies.

▫️Profile

You have a masters/doctoral degree in bioinformatics or biology but with strong bioinformatic skills.You have experience with massive parallel sequencing data analysis and genomics.You can work independently.You have a proven scientific track record and have strong scientific interests.

✍️گزارشی که به تازگی درباره بازار بیوانفورماتیک منتشر شده نشان می دهد که نرخ رشد مرکب سالانه بازار بیوانفورماتیک ۲۰/۴ درصد می باشد. این گزارش با بررسی بازار بیوانفورماتیک از سال ۲۰۱۶ تا به اکنون و پیش بینی این بازار تا سال ۲۰۲۰ صورت گرفته در این گزارش، علت افزایش این نرخ رشد، به افزایش کاربردهای بیوانفورماتیک در کشف و توسعه داروها و افزایش حمایت بیوانفورماتیک از پزشکی شخصی و تشخیص های بالینی می باشد.

This Master programme enables students to acquire deeper knowledge in biosciences taking into account new computational and high-throughput experimental technologies. This involves the handling of large amounts of data and thus bioinformatics and network analysis are essential elements in this modern education in biosciences.

▫️What is Systems Biology?

Systems Biology (an extension of Biochemistry and Physiology) wants to understand and model systems: individual cells, organs and whole organisms on the basis of their constituting molecules. It integrates established disciplines in Biosciences and renovates them for the challenges of the future.
▫️Aims of the programme

The Master of Systems Biology combines theoretical and practical education: at least 1,450 hours of practical work in computer labs and wet labs within the University’s Life Sciences Research Unit or in partner institutions (Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), the Luxembourg Institute of Science & Technology (LIST), and the IGBMC in Strasbourg).
