DHS is ending the H-1B lottery, replacing it with a selective, restrictive and weighted process that gives priority to high-wage and skill-proven applicants, after the fee. Though this is not an end to the visa, which only Congress can do, it should practically cut off the bottom to middle percentile.

An Appeal To Pragmatism
the ruling is not a final decision and is subject to review
Apparently the SCOTUS ruling allows Trump to use the regular military anyway, and then the National Guard if necessary, upholding his authority to enforce the law with armed federal forces. Judges love to complicate the law however they can.

NPR finds that over 1.6 million migrants have lost legal status since Trump took office, or are slated to lose it in coming months. This is ‘the largest effort ever’ done to take out ‘lawful’ foreigners.

President Trump's H-1B changes and legal immigration restrictions are causing serious shifts in the way businesses approach visa sponsorship and application, as the fees and vetting make overall access harder.
One immigration attorney says he has seen a ‘40-50% drop in H-1B inquiries’ and the pipeline for temporary or legal foreigners is drying up in many respects, tho the visa program itself is enduring as part of law.

In the face of record injunctions dealt by federal judges, the 2nd Trump admin has achieved record Supreme Court assists. The suggestion to ignore judges is a transient, insufficient solution. We need systemic, law-changing or court-crushing action. Important for lobbies and law-makers to adopt this framing and think accordingly.
