One 2017 study by several criminologists found that on average, each death sentence costs taxpayers $700,000 more than life imprisonment —> We still need to remember all indirect costs, for example related to rape therapy, another crime if such dude get released, etc, plus the difference between countries / regions and the fact, that such things should not be paid by the population! Otherwise is like if someone is doing a car crash and everyone need to pay for the shit someone did ...
