Telegram has rolled out its first update of 2026, introducing AI-generated summaries for channel posts and Instant View pages. The feature relies on privacy-focused, open-source AI models running on Cocoon, a decentralized infrastructure designed to protect user data.
With this update, Telegram for iOS now offers full support for Apple’s Liquid Glass interface, bringing transparent and layered design elements across the app. The company also highlighted its rapid development pace in 2025, during which it shipped more than 75 new features across 13 major updates, sometimes releasing updates just eight days apart.
The new AI summaries operate entirely on open-source models hosted within Cocoon. Each request is end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that user content remains private and inaccessible to third parties while summaries are generated.
