UK Sanctions West Bank Violence Network Including ‘Settler Grandmother’ Daniella Weiss

Officials also announced the suspension of free trade deal negotiations with Israel over 19 months into the British-backed genocide of Palestinians in Gaza

The British government slapped sanctions on prominent individuals involved in Israel's illegal settler movement in the occupied West Bank, as well as on construction companies active in the besieged region.

“In response to the persistent cycle of serious violence undertaken by extremist Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, the foreign secretary has announced new sanctions today," the statement issued by London on 20 May reads.

“Today’s measures target three individuals, including prominent settler leader Daniella Weiss, as well as two illegal outposts and two organizations that have supported, incited, and promoted violence against Palestinian communities in the West Bank,” the document adds.

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy also announced the suspension of free trade deal negotiations with Israel and revealed that the Israeli ambassador was summoned over the ongoing invasion and blockade of Gaza.

“While the UK government remains committed to the existing trade agreement in force, it is not possible to advance discussions on a new, upgraded FTA with a Netanyahu government that is pursuing egregious policies in the West Bank and Gaza,” Lammy said.

The motion, approved by a slim majority of 176 to 171, urges the government to halt all military-related exports, including protective gear and dual-use items like fuel.

“Spain cannot cooperate with a state that commits genocide or war crimes,” the motion states. The vote follows Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s call to bar Israel from international events such as Eurovision over its ongoing assault on Gaza.

I’ve obtained the alleged manifesto written by Elias Rodriguez, suspect in the killing of two Israeli Embassy staffers in Washington, DC on Wednesday.

I believe the document to be authentic for several reasons, including the fact that it is signed by Rodriguez and timestamped well before he was named by law enforcement or any media. I am publishing it here not to glorify the violence — which I find abhorrent and condemn — but so the public can better understand the truth of what happened.

Refusing to confront the content of these texts often creates an information vacuum that is quickly filled by hoax documents, conspiracy theories, or selective leaks from authorities that can distort the facts. I believe that sunlight is the best disinfectant, especially when politics is involved, as the document makes clear is the case here.

Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith identified Rodriguez as a 30-year-old man from Chicago who she said shouted “Free, free Palestine!” at the scene. The manifesto echoes this message, citing the war in Gaza as its central grievance and framing the killings as an act of political protest.

Iraq’s Oil Ministry has declared recent multi-billion dollar energy agreements between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and US firms HKN Energy and WesternZagros legally invalid.

The $110 billion deals, announced by KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani in Washington and aimed at developing the Miran and Topkhana-Kurdamir gas fields, were signed without Baghdad’s consent. The ministry emphasized that Iraq’s natural resources belong to all its citizens and must be managed through federal channels.

Rep. Randy Fine Implies Gaza Should Be ‘Nuked’ Like Japan After DC Shooting

Two Israeli embassy staffers, an Israeli and an American, were killed in the shooting

On Thursday, Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) appeared to suggest that Gaza should be “nuked” like Japan was during World War II in response to the shooting in Washington DC that killed two Israeli embassy staffers.

The congressman was asked in an interview on Fox News if the shooting should change the course of Israel’s onslaught on Gaza. “Well, I think it speaks to the importance of the only end of the conflict is the complete and total surrender by those who support Muslim terror,” Fine replied.

“In World War II, we did not negotiate a surrender with the Nazis, we did not negotiate a surrender with the Japanese. We nuked the Japanese twice in order to get unconditional surrender, that needs to be the same here,” Fine added.

Fine, who recently won a special election for Mike Waltz’s seat in the House, is staunchly pro-Israel and has a history of calling for mass violence against Palestinians on X. He celebrated the Israeli military killing of Aysenur Eyzi Eygi, a 26-year-old Turkish-American citizen, who was gunned down in the West Bank, calling her a “Muslim terrorist” even though she was unarmed.

Fine also said in the interview on Thursday that “Palestinianism is violence” and that “Palestinianism” is evil.

The shooting on Wednesday night killed a young couple, Yaron Lischinsky, an Israeli citizen, and Sarah Milgrim, an American woman, as they were walking out of a young diplomats event at the Capital Jewish Museum. The suspect is not Palestinian and has been identified as Elias Rodriguez, 31, of Chicago. A purported manifesto he wrote shows that Gaza was his motive for the attack, and Rodriguez was seen shouting “free Palestine” as he was arrested.

The killings of Lishinsky and Milgrim were not the first murders related to the conflict in Gaza inside the US. In October 2023, a few weeks after the Hamas attack on southern Israel, a six-year-old Palestinian American boy, Wadee Alfayoumi, was stabbed and murdered in Illinois by his landlord, 73-year-old Joseph M. Czuba, who was recently sentenced to 53 years in prison.
