Lack of a comprehensive social policy agenda is seriously felt amid profound political upheavals in Muslim countries; hence this conference represents a timely response by the academic community.
Deadline
Deadline for Submission of abstracts (and proposals for closed panels) is 2017-10-10

Lack of a comprehensive social policy agenda is seriously felt amid profound political upheavals in Muslim countries; hence this conference represents a timely response by the academic community.
Deadline

The Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at Colorado State University (CSU) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in the area of water resource economics. The position will focus on the development of hydroeconomic models to assess groundwater management as well as regional economic modeling. The selected individual will work in collaboration with Dr. Suter, Dr. Goemans and Dr. Manning of CSU and Dr. Schoengold of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to develop and refine a linked hydro-agronomic-economic model of groundwater use. The modeling framework will then be used to evaluate the impacts of various groundwater management strategies and agricultural practices on water use and profitability for producers in specific areas in the Ogallala Aquifer. The individual will also carry out regional economic analysis to assess the broader economic implications of the conservation interventions.
The position is funded through an interdisciplinary multi-institutional USDA Coordinated Agricultural Project. The individual will be expected to work closely with research collaborators at Colorado State University, the University of Nebraska and other institutions to make decisions about model development and implementation to develop evidence of policy and agricultural practice efficacy in conserving groundwater use.
