So after watching so many ongoing webseries i decided to take a break and watch something different,

Where I found 2 movie in my watchlist "Taxi Driver" and "500 days of summer" both are simultaneously arranged so I decided to watch both of em and oh my holy God!! These movies changed my pov towards love...

So Let's break it out-
In Taxi Driver, Travis “love” isn’t really love, it’s his own loneliness and moral confusion.

When he sees Betsy he found she's a lonely girl too so he imagined her as a kind of angelic figure who can cure him, but what he likes about Betsy is the idea of purity and redemption she represents, not her as a person.

When she rejects him because of a wierd theatre date, he doesn’t handle it with emotional maturity, instead of that his loneliness makes him into anger, obsession, and violence.

Love, for Travis, became a symbol of everything he can’t have as a human connection. I think It’s not romance it’s desperation.

💀 So what does the ending mean about love?

I think It’s a Scorsese’s cruel irony:

"When you can’t connect with love, you’ll try to replace it with purpose even if that purpose is self-destruction."

Now "let's talk about 500 days of summer"

Tom’s “love” for Summer has the same roots as Travis realisation but in a more relatable, things.

He doesn’t fall for Summer because of her prettyness instead of that he falls for what he believes she is, a quirky, perfect, destiny filled dream girl who’ll make his life meaningful.

But Summer, on the other hand, is honest from the start she doesn’t want anything serious, she doesn’t believe in fate,
(but why she married after breakup with Tom?? Ans is simple- Well we can't understand women, gods also failed in it :)

When Tom’s fantasy came into reality, he’s crushed. But unlike Travis, he eventually grows from the heartbreak, realizing love isn’t about finding “the one,” but understanding that people and feelings changes..
