במהלך סיור עבודה חשוב שערכתי השבוע בעיר אלעד סגרתי מעגל כשנפגשתי עם הפצוע הקשה מהפיגוע שי בן שלמה, שלאחר תקופת שיקום ארוכה הבריא וחזר לעצמו.
בפגישה אמרתי לו שרק בשנה האחרונה בעקבות הרפורמה בנשק אותה אני מוביל הוציאו 1,300 תושבי אלעד רשיון לנשק, נשק שיופנה לראשו של המחבל שיעיז בפעם הבאה להיכנס לעיר ולבצע פיגוע.
