A 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a New Jersey judge had no jurisdiction to order the release of Columbia University graduate Mahmoud Khalil from immigration detention, delivering President Trump a victory in his effort to deport the pro-Palestinian activist.

The appeals court dismissed Khalil's lawsuit noting that immigration challenges must proceed through the administrative process rather than federal courts.

🇬🇧 UK veterans aged 65 told to prepare for war, as MoD set to increase the age for calling upon the strategic reserve from 55 to 65, with the UK Army shrinking to its smallest size in more than 200 years.

The measures come amid fears Britain could be dragged into a full-scale war with Russia in a matter of years. Defence and security chiefs have repeatedly warned of the potential for large-scale war in recent months.

Al Carns, the Armed Forces minister, said just before Christmas that war was “already knocking on Europe’s door” and that Britain had to be prepared for a conflict that was “bigger” than those fought in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The United States is pressing Mexico to allow U.S. forces to join raids on fentanyl labs, arguing it would strengthen the fight against drug cartels.

The proposal—renewed under Trump—would put U.S. special forces or CIA officers alongside Mexican troops.

Mexico’s president, Claudia Sheinbaum, has rejected the idea, citing sovereignty, and instead offered more intelligence sharing.
