Today, Reach for Change Ethiopia joined national leaders, educators, researchers, partners and social entrepreneurs at the Education Reform for Change Forum hosted at the British Council. The discussions were thoughtful, grounded and rooted in a shared question: Is Ethiopian education truly about learning and teaching.

What made today meaningful was the recognition that learning goes beyond classroom instruction. It is about building confidence, problem solving, communication and real-life skills.

Several important insights emerged from the forum:

• Ethiopia’s learning challenges are real, but the country is rich with social entrepreneurs who are already creating effective, context relevant solutions.
• Real reform happens when responsibility is shared — between educators, families, social entrepreneurs, government, private sector and development partners.
• EdTech and social innovation are essential elements of a learning centered education system and must be part of the national conversation.
