calls from Russia and singapore
Have been recently receiving calls from Singapore multiple times a day as well as other 5 digit phone numbers from Russia and the U.S.? Today I finally decided to pick one up and it was a female with a strong accent asking if I was "XY" which happened to be my father initials( who owns the phone plan I am on). I responded "yes" and they promptly hung up. Should I be worried? I assume this is some sort of scam or somebody trying to breach my information. Anything I should do? Should I be worried?

Question: What's the most recommended security software to protect my home machine?
I know there are lots of options, I'm familiar with Kaspersky, but I just don't know where to go to see legitimate analysis of which product I should be using. Thanks in advance!

Just how much of that "diagnostic" or "metadata" reporting is secure?
As we go into the world where everything is connected and even more reporting home. I often wonder how much of it is really even encrypted or properly secured? Can we expect this to change much going forward or worsen?

Your recommended software firewall / IDS / IPS?
What would you recommend as a software firewall ( win 8.1 pro system ).I am currently using Comodo ( free ) yet i am wondering if there may be something better out there.I do not mind if you recommend a commercial product... preferably with a 1 time subnoscription fee and or a dedicated setup I can add to another box i have sitting around.thanks.

Slavic 401k Security is a Joke
My company uses Slavic for 401k. They only allow passwords between 6-12 characters. This makes me super sad that my retirement account forces me to use insecure passwords. It wouldn't be so bad if they supported multi-factor authentication. My guess, if they ever do support MFA it will probably be text messages to cell phones, which is just about as sad as max password length of 12 characters. If anyone else out there has a Slavic account I suggest you change your passwords often. They are basically a greased butthole pointed at the internet with a blinking neon sign that says "Insert Rainbow Table Here"

I use LastPass to store ALL of my passwords. I encrypt them with AES256, before storing them on LastPass. Am I going to far?
Supposed to be TOO far. Sorry!
