Members of Riverland Active Club - St. Louis Chapter hosted a strike training meet with a visiting brother from SW Florida Active Club in attendance, and of course the event was followed by plenty of food on the grill.
It was a rainy, dreary afternoon, but the best of bonds are forged between men during the worst of conditions.

Members of Riverland Active Club were invited to participate in a First Aid/Medic workshop facilitated by our Brothers at Mid-Mo Minutemen.
Participants received hands-on instruction on applying chest seals, tourniquets, compression bandages, wound packing, CPR, and nasopharyngeal airways (NPA's) & oropharyngeal airways (OPA's).
Big thanks to Mid-Mo for another mutually beneficial, cross-organizational event!

Happy Thanksgiving to Heritage Americans all Across This Great Land!
The First Thanksgiving held at Plymouth has a greater relevance to both the American tradition and the birth of this great country than those held at Saint Augustine and elsewhere. Holding Thanksgiving celebrations itself was not unique or restricted to a certain time period. Some were held in Canada around the same time, as well.
However, the holiday that has established itself in the American Canon is not just a Thanksgiving Mass service or another day of "general gratitude giving", it's a holiday based on the specific one held by the Pilgrims as they celebrated their survival of winter and the harvest of their first crop - not simply a social gathering or feast. It was a solemn, covenantal act to the God of Providence for sparing them through the hardships of the new colonial lands, and not a multicultural festive meal with tribal neighbors.
