The Blessing of Security Should Be Met With Worship Remembrance and Gratitude to Allaah

Servants of Allaah, we must truly feel and appreciate this blessing the blessing of security and safety and strive to preserve it.

Every individual in their homeland must work to protect this blessing, the blessing of security and safety, and thank Allah Almighty for it.

They should respond to this blessing with remembrance and gratitude, as Allaah the Exalted said:

> “Then when you are safe, remember Allaah as He has taught you that which you did not know.”

[Al-Baqarah 239]

And He also said:

“For the protection of Quraysh, their protection in the journey of winter and summer let them worship the Lord of this House, who has fed them against hunger and secured them from fear.”

[Quraysh 106:1–4]

Al-Ājurrī described the seeker of knowledge as follows:


Those who mix with him are safe from his harm.

Those who accompany him hope for his goodness.

He does not hold others accountable for their slips.

He does not spread the sins of others.

He does not rush to believe reports (rumors).

He does not divulge the secrets of those who oppose him.

He does not seek revenge without right.

He forgives and pardons.

Humble before the truth, dignified against falsehood.

Suppresses his anger toward those who harm him.

Intensely hates whoever disobeys his Lord.

Responds to the ignorant with silence, and to the scholar with acceptance.

He is not a flatterer, nor a quarrelsome person, nor arrogant, nor envious, nor spiteful, nor foolish, nor rude, nor harsh, nor coarse, nor one who stabs with words, nor one who curses, nor a backbiter, nor an abuser.

He associates with brothers who help him obey his lord and forbid him from what his Lord dislikes.

He treats with kindness those whose harm he fears in order to protect his religion.

His heart is free of malice and envy toward people.

Good opinion of the believers dominates his heart whenever an excuse can be found.

He does not love to see blessings removed from anyone.

He handles the ignorance of others toward him with gentleness.

When amazed at someone else’s ignorance, he remembers that his own ignorance before his Lord is greater.

No calamity is feared from him.

No one fears any harm from him.

People are at ease from him, while he himself is in constant struggle with his own soul.

We conclude with these lines (poetry ) by Imam Al-Shaf'ee
(May Allaah have mercy on him) concerning dutifulness to parents.

He said (may Allaah have mercy on him):

> Obey Allaah as He has commanded,
And fill your heart with caution.
Religion is a true obligation,
The light of insight and of vision.
Guard it well, for it is a blessing,
A happiness that is assured.

And obey your father, for he raised you
Since the time of your infancy.

And humble yourself to your mother and seek her pleasure,
For her disobedience is among the gravest sins.

She carried you for nine months,
Between pain and hardship.

And when you are ill, she weeps for you
With tears like rain.

So obey them both and honor them,
Lest you be punished in Hell (Saqr).

These are among the finest verses on this subject the subject of dutifulness to parents and obedience to them as an act of obedience to Allaah, the Almighty.

And there are many other verses on this matter.

We ask Allaah, Glorified and Exalted, to grant us and you guidance, righteousness, success, support, and steadfastness.

And we ask Him, Glorified be He, to make our gathering

a blessed and merciful gathering.

Earning income from Taxi , Uber and the Likes in the Lands of Kuffar

What is the ruling on driving taxi in the Lands of Kufaar?

May Allaah bless you.

As for the question from the brother who works as a taxi driver in non-Muslim countries and transports people including those who are drunk, those who play and engage in sinful behavior taking them to their homes without participating in their sins:

In principle, taking payment for this service is permissible according to the scholars, but with certain conditions.

Among these conditions is that he must not transport them to places of alcohol, entertainment, immorality, or fornication.

If he drives them from their homes to such sinful places, then this is haram (forbidden) because it constitutes cooperation in sin and transgression.

Secondly, if he transports them while they are carrying alcohol to such places, this is sinful, forbidden, and falls under the curse, because the Prophet (ﷺ)cursed the drinker of alcohol and also the one who carries it.

As for taking payment merely for driving them from those places to their homes, the basic ruling is that it is permissible, as long as:

He does not carry alcohol with them, and

He does not drive them to sinful places.

If, for example, he drives them to parks or places where fornication and immoral behavior occur, this is haram.

However, my advice to this brother is to avoid such work altogether, out of fear of falling into sin and corruption sooner or later, and also out of concern for his own safety from these drunk individuals.

For the Prophet (ﷺ)said:

> “Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt.”



And he (ﷺ )also said:

> “Whoever avoids doubtful matters has protected his religion and honor, but whoever falls into doubtful matters falls into the unlawful like a shepherd who grazes near a sanctuary, soon he will graze within it.”

Therefore, the advice to him is to avoid such jobs, fearing both religious harm and worldly danger, for he might be hurt by those drunk people they might beat him, steal his car, or even kill him, and so on.

Thus, the advice is to leave this kind of work, and Allaah knows best.

Regarding this question the brother says that he is always sad,
constantly in sorrow, and spends his nights in distress and tightness of the chest.


The advice to him is to increase in the remembrance of Allah (dhikr), as Allah the Exalted says:

> “And remember Allah much so that you may rejoice.”

-[Jumu‘ah (62:10)]

“And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and fear and without being loud in speech, and do not be among the heedless.”

[Al-A‘raf (7:205)]


He is advised to maintain the morning and evening adhkar (remembrances), the adhkar before sleeping, and to recite the Qur’an regularly.

He is also advised to frequently say the supplications of distress, to recite Surah Al-Baqarah, to listen to ruqyah (Qur’anic healing recitations), and to perform ruqyah on himself.

And he should not give in to this sadness, nor allow Satan to open for him the door of grief, for Allaah says:

> “So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior.”
