the thing that made the wrestler hit so hard was that mickey rourke was all himself. he poured his whole heart into the role, which reflected his own personal story all along, and it was his moment to finally share it. the way he carried that brokenness and regret, how he limped, cried, and looked ashamed. it was as raw as it gets.
