All three batteries alkaline batteries leaked on this thing I made about six years ago. Not only this, but they all leaked out of BOTH ENDS! How on earth does this even happen?

Well, regardless, it's interesting that the anode side corroded everything blue whereas the cathode side corroded everything white and crusty.

This gizmo was the first PCB I had ever designed. It is a sort of tester that would let me compare all the different colors of LEDs that were available at the time. It was sort of an academic exercise so I could get used to KiCAD at the time. Anyway, I happened to have an exact spare of the battery holder in my junk bin so I was able to replace it and get it up and running again!

Hello again.

I have almost finalized the list of polymers and the list of solvents I wish to test with my vapor polisher.

The columns on this spreadsheet represent the solvent I am going vaporize and the rows represent the polymers that are going to be exposed.

Note that I have left out ABS and Nylon 6. This is because ABS already sucks at chemical resistance and I feel Nylon 6 will behave similarly enough to Nylon 12 that it's not worth me spending 80$ on a spool just to run for these tests.

If you have any ideas as to what other solvents or what other polymers I should test, please let me know. I cannot test anything that requires a printing temp higher than 290c. That is just what my machines max out at. I will not work with any solvents that are carcinogenic or stupidly toxic (like formaldehyde, for example)

I just pulled off the most gigabrained move ever. I got some pure polycarbonate filament, but it would not stick to the buildplate under any circumstances. So I got another brand of PC which has some additives that make it more easily printable.
I used the lower-temp PC as a raft for the higher-temp pure PC, which are red and blue. Somewhat miraculously this produced my best Calidragon yet. Even his chin came out perfect!
The filaments are 3dxtech ezPC and Gizmodorks PC, in red and blue respectively.

Do NOT print polycarbonate without proper filtration and/or ventilation. It outgasses formaldehyde and bis-phenol-A (BPA) vapor when printed. In fact, I would recommend wearing rubber gloves and possibly even a respirator if you are handling or doing maintenance on your printer while it is molten in your hotend. Polycarbonate's distinctive fumes lingered on my hands a full day after working with the stuff, even after trying to wash it off with soap and water and other solvents.
I have been having random bouts of heart arhythmia and sleep apnea the last couple weeks. This the first time I have ever experienced such symptoms and I believe it is the result of acute BPA exposure. Fortunately symptoms have since subsided.
