Summary: there is evidence to show an association between pornography usage and harmful attitudes and behaviours towards women and girls. Experimental studies do exist but these skew older, having fallen out of favour for a lack of ecological validity. The nature and strength of this relationship varies across the literature, and there are many potential moderating (potentially even mediating) variables that require further investigation, but it is clear that a relationship does exist.
