Which brings us to problem number two, which is what happened to mainstream Protestant denominations like the Episcopalians, the group to which Tucker Carlson belongs. When Carlson claims there is no continuity between biblical Israel and the current ethnostate in the Middle East, Cruz accuses him of anti-Semitism, which simultaneously enrages and disarms Carlson, who fails to deal effectively with the charge because his mind is still conservative occupied territory, leading him to say that some of his best friends are Jews, that he knows good Jews, that he supports the state of Israel, etc. etc. when he should have gone deeper and talked about the Jewish revolutionary spirit and the effect it has had on the moral corruption of the American people which paved the way to the genocide in Gaza and has led this country to the brink of a war which America cannot win and should not fight.

Carlson knows that Jews are the source of America's problem but the speech codes of an obsolete conservatism and an all but extinct and homosexualized Episcopalianism have formed his mind in a way that prevents him from identifying the enemy, and as a result he is condemned, as Sun Tzu pointed out long ago, to lose every battle.

There is something tragically American about Carlson's persona of the innocent American which reminds me of many characters in Henry James's novels, who claim to be innocent but don't want to know the truth or suffer the consequences of proclaiming it. Like Daisy Miller, who needs to be saved from her own delusions of herself as the American ingénue by causing scandal by marching around Rome with what is at best a fortune hunter and at worst a gigolo, Tucker sabotages his sortie against Cruz and the Zionist stooges in the conservative movement by saying in effect "I don't think I want to know what you mean" when we urge him to address the real issue.

The discussion between Sen Ted Cruz and Tucker Carlson about Israel's attack on Iran and why Cruz supports Israel and wants to drag the US into the war on the side of Israel is an example of the disintegration of American Protestantism into homosexual Episcopalianism (along with other mainstream denominations like Presbyterianism, Methodism, and Lutheranism) on the one hand and Christian Zionist Evangelical sects on the other.
