This train station is a symbol of the spiritual affinity which Catholics and Muslims share in their veneration of the Blessed Mother. It is also a symbol of the collaboration I prayed for when I attended Mass at the church next to this station.

During one of my many visits to Iran I spent an afternoon discussing the significance which the Blessed Mother's appearance at Fatima had for Muslims with a reporter whose questions often exceeded my ability to answer them. May this affinity blossom into peace and a repudiation of the wars that Israel continues to spread with the financial backing of the US regime.
